The Hope Fund

Brightening the Lives of Our Neighbors

Mother and child The Hope Fund is a joint effort of the Florida Times-Union, the University of North Florida and HandsOn Jacksonville. Its purpose is to help provide basic necessities to area families in need.

The campaign starts at Thanksgiving and goes through Christmas. UNF journalism students write stories about families whose names are provided by participating nonprofit agencies, and donations are collected through the Florida Times-Union.

HandsOn Jacksonville distributes 100% of the donations to the nonprofit agencies to provide direct help to their clients in need. To date, The Hope Fund has distributed more than two million dollars to area families.

Nonprofit agencies that are Nonprofit Partner Members of HandsOn Jacksonville and provide direct service to clients in need are eligible to apply for participation each year.

You can follow The 2010 Hope Fund Stories and make donations on the Florida Times-Union website. If you have any questions about The Hope Fund, please call 904-332-6767 or send an email to Agency Relations.
